Starting point is Aldo's Ristorante at S. Winchester Blvd, Los Gatos.
The 2019 Spring Fling Tour will be here before you know it. Come early for a departure time of 9:00. Gas is available nearby and breakfast is available at the Purple Onion.
Of course, the FIAT brethren and Nancy McCroskey's group will be welcomed as usual.
The route is a reverse loop of last year's tour.
We will take Uvas road to the rest stop at Uvas Dam, and then on to the Grove via backroads.
Lunch at the Grove by Leal for some amazing Farm to Table food and even better wines.
After a relaxing lunch at The Grove we will head back via Chittenden Pass. We will hit 101 along the way, where some may choose to head home.
We will stop at Gizdich Ranch for dessert, so save room.
The last leg is on the beautifully graded Soquel-San Jose Rd to Summit Rd and 17, then onto wherever home is for all

Start: Carl's Jr, 2802 S White Rd., San Jose
We will head out on the tour of tours. There will be windy roads, curvy roads and even some freeway driving, some uphill and downhill! And, I'm told, the best burgers in the area. And, if we are lucky, wonderful views of Silicon Valley. We will start out at Carl’s Jr. on White Rd in San Jose at 9:00. After a short "drivers' meeting," we will head for the hills. We will meet up again at Joseph Grant Park to regroup, (one of our favorite camping localities, they always seem to have open sites).
From there, up windy roads to Mt. Hamilton and the Lick Observatory. We will reconnect and take a break before heading down the "back side." If you haven't been to the observatory, there’s a lot of interesting history (and rest rooms). This road used to be one of the "test tracks" for our cars and motorcycles when we were kids. Too many bicyclists to drive like Mario Andretti today!
We will stop for lunch at The Junction in Livermore for food and drink (I'm told they have the best burgers) and a little leg stretching before heading down the road. This section will have more windy roads and then longer sweepers. Something for every car and driver. I hope our FIAT will not fail us! Doesn't really have the right gear for the up-hills but likes the down-hills.
Last stop will be Starbucks in Livermore for snacks and drinks before we split-up and head home on the freeway. We will know more details after the pre-run. This is a new experience for me as I have not done a whole tour before.
